What a brave offering for Maggie to take on as her final project, a 2 act musical, with clowns. I loved it. I loved the goofball antics and clown storytelling. I thought the set was really successful in its ability to move us from location as well as supporting the storytelling through its floaty big top look. The show was well-cast and all the performers lent clear, powerful voices to the play.
Maggie had much delight in her work as Buffona. I saw her enjoying her time on stage and playing with her scene partners, giving her all to the story and generous with her humanity…Maggie’s instincts are really dynamic and honest. She is willing to be silly and look silly and this is so endearing. I’m so excited to see her continue to find freedom to explore her impulses with greater freedom and courage.
